St Cecilia

Today's the day .......................... to hang on in

This David Austin rose 'St Cecilia'  is still in flower in the garden - although this is the very last bloom.

The plant was a birthday present given to me many years ago by brother Ron and Margaret.  It has a strong fragrance and starts off a pale buff apricot colour - but eventually turns almost to white.  

You may know that St Cecilia is the patron saint of music and musicians.  And, of course, my name 'Sheila' is thought to be derived from the Irish Sile, a gaelic form of it.  So it is altogether a very appropriate rose for me to have .........................
