Getting the sparkle back

Aberlady Nature Reserve Footbridge

Taken on our way back from a short, brisk walk to reach a beach near to Gullane Point. There was a bitter wind, so we needed to keep moving to stay warm and didn't do much bird watching while we were out. However, we did see a stonechat which was looking very bonny in the sunshine.

We went back to the car to eat our lunch and had quite a display of birds to look at, including curlews, mallards and wigeon. A little egret flew by a couple of times.

Earlier in the day we went to an exhibition of wildlife paintings by Darren Woodhead. I coveted lots of them, but the price tags were fairly hefty!

Have now added an extra of a "Poppy Cascade" at Aberlady Parish Church, made up of knitted and crocheted poppies. A week on from Remembrance Sunday, but they clearly reckoned it was worth leaving up for a bit longer.
