NEW BIRD....

.... while down at the dam tonight hopefully getting a sunset "moment" for our Blackheath Photo Club challenge (see the result here on Flickr )
spotted this little bird shooting along the dam edge.

With the sunset looking a dud in real terms, changed the lens and went chasing the bird!

Was pleased I had, even though all but dark, managed a shot to at least ID a new find..... the Black-fronted dotterel as detailed here on Birds in Backyards.

Always find it interesting when this happens to read they are "common" but never seen one before!! So, must mean I better get out more..... ha ha!!
