New Arrivals

This morning we awoke to the rain that had been forecasted, which got heavier as the morning wore on. We had to put our wet weather gear on when we went feeding out this morning, and because it was raining rather heavy, I didn't take my camera with me. This photo has been taken with my iPhone.

There were two new born calves waiting for us this morning - one that had been born yesterday, and the other born overnight. This picture shows the two new calves being bought in, with their mother's following. The friesan looking cow is the same cow in my blip on the 2nd October (see here). She was due yesterday, so was dead on time giving birth.

If you enlarge the picture, you will see milk leaking out of one of the black & white cow's back teat. Her udder is so tight, that the milk is leaking out to relieve the pressure. She will be milked this afternoon to make her a bit more comfortable - and her colostrum will be given to her calf.
