Tiny Tuesday...Nuts of Hickory

Yesterday, during our walk...I spotted some hickory nuts. They are a small nut, anywhere from 1/2 inch to about 3/4. There isn't much meat in them, but the squirrels and chipmunks love them.

I got on my hands and knees (on concrete) to fill my 2 jacket pockets with them. I hope my rodents appreciate my effort.

I'm putting the nuts out a dozen at a time. The big boy in the middle is a nut that is still in its shell.
