Night Sky , West Barns

Thinking about the series of night shots I am doing in Edinburgh made me wonder about night shots at home. It's a while since I have done any night sky photography  and I tend to forget just how clear the skies are here at night because when I take the dogs out at night the security lights immediately kick in and with the light pollution you cannot see with the naked eye the marvellous array of stars up in the sky. So tonight having switched off the security lights I trotted out into the garden with my camera and tripod and having played around with ISOs and exposures I eventually got something worthwhile.
