Hat Hair Selfy

Our future daughter-in-law was in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade this morning.  She has done this for the past 10 years. Apparently, after she was in it the first time, she has been asked each year since.  She has been a variety of things including a Hockey puck and today a Christmas bulb to accompany the last float which carries Santa.  The staging area for the parade is only a few blocks from us, so some of the family braved the bitter cold morning to go down and see her.  I have included an adorable picture of her in her costume (which I did not take) in the extras.  She was in that costume from 6:30 am until noon and she couldn't sit down or use the facilities.  There was a long stretch of waiting around as they were at the rear of the parade and then a march along the 2 mile parade route.   Only Santa had a heated limo to wait in.  We asked her why she does it and she says that it is such a joyous experience.  Everyone is incredibly happy and having a ball. What could be better.

After everyone came back frozen and took off their hats, father and daughter had hilariously bad hair.  Couldn't resist this photo of my son and his 10-month old trying to take a silly selfy of their extreme hat hair.

We had a lovely Thanksgiving dinner, have watched a lot of football and had various sessions of FaceTime with absent members of the family.  It has been a good holiday.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my US blip friends.
