Christmas in the City

The two of us went downtown today to see the Andrew Wyeth exhibition at the Seattle Art Museum but had a stroll through the city to look at Christmas decorations on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.   OH my, it seemed very sparse to me… not crowded and there were some views where it was hard to see anything at all Christmasy.   This was the best….the train in Macy’s window that kids can activate by putting hands on the window (we took our little boys to this 40 some years ago)  and the 25th annual Gingerbread Village at the Sheridan Hotel….this year the theme is a tribute to the city  “25 years of cheer: A celebration of Seattle” with architects and culinary chefs creating old and future views of Seattle.   This is the old part of town with the Smith tower…. Not crowded (also not as good as others, IMO). ( I liked these two with people looking in the windows..).  We nipped into Macy’s on the way back to pick up 1 small item in a very uncrowded store and happened to go by the Santa where there was NO line, and only one person about to pay for the annual Photo….so I took his picture with no child! (extra)   amazing.
Everyone must be at home on their computers shopping?
OR at the museum looking at Andrew Wyeth!  ( a great show..we’ll go back…amazing details —the other extra))

To the Island tomorrow for a much different scene... can't wait!!
