A Room with a View

Next week we will be holidaying in Scotland. We started the holiday today, having booked a half-day's leave so that we could finish work at lunchtime and do the five hour drive up to Northumberland to stay overnight in a B&B.

We wanted to do this partly because we love Northumberland and this was a good chance to briefly see it again, and partly so that we could make the most of the first Saturday of the holiday.

G had searched online and found a splendidly located B&B right beside the A1 at South Buckton, with a view across to Lindisfarne Castle on Holy Island. The photo for today's blip was taken from our bedroom window. While I love much of Northumberland, Holy Island is to me the most special place of all.

BTW the B&B was very good indeed.
