inter-war-functionalist style...

...is the architectural descriptor of this gorgeous and very pink and cerise?, cinema where  appropriately 'Murder on the Orient Express' is currently showing.
An example of the Art Deco style of architect William Leighton ...The Como Theatre reflects the architectural style popular in the inter-war period, using nautical motifs such as wavy lines, smooth flat curves and tubular handrails, with an architectural emphasis on both the horizontal and the vertical aspects of the building.
The 'liner' theme is reinforced by the three 'port hole' windows on the exterior of the building.

Move over Orient Express and just around the corner are Paddington 2 and the latest wunderkind of the Star Wars family 'The Last Jedi'...and the promise of a hat tipped to bygone days where the cinema's theatre organ is played on premiere occasions or to accompany classics of the silent era.
