Bridges in Northampton

We're looking northwest at two bridges  in the center of our modest downtown. The lower railroad bridge carries the Amtrak Vermonter, which  we sometimes take to and from New York. The operator probably used to be the Boston and Main Railroad; it survived until 1970, when it declared bankruptcy. The "BOSTON" part of the name is still visible on the bridge (hopefully it will survive for another few decades). The path on the higher bridge is for bicycles and pedestrians. Ironically that path becomes the Rail Trail toward the east, in Hadley and Amherst, where we sometimes go birding. Here's one of my many blips from it, which coincidentally shows my son Raphael and his family, with whom we recently had Thanksgiving in New Jersey :)
