Rosehips

Our short walk today was in Dalkeith Park, a quick trot along the tarmac road from Restoration Yard towards the A68 bridge, where we turned round and came back again. Although there were horses and cattle around, they were not suitably arranged for a blip.

This photo of rosehips*  also shows the cruel method by which the hedge is trimmed, such that the branches are torn off, rather than cut clean, a technique that may save manpower but at the expense of the overall health of the planting.

*no, I didn't pick any, though I was tempted.
