All bryophyted out!

I've been relearning some of my mosses and liverworts today on an interesting course led by our Buckinghamshire Bryophyte Recorder, Sean O'Leary. It was great to be with a friendly group of enthusiasts in a lovely valley near Marlow, where the owners are doing great things to manage a large area of beech woods and chalk grassland to increase the wildlife. It was a perfect site for trying to get to grips with these plants for the first time since attending a London University Extra-Mural course on Lower Plants 40 years ago. The lovely fruiting moss in the foreground is Rhynchostegium confertum, a common moss in slightly shaded situations.
