Hi-flyer!!!

Wednesday 29th November 2017 (1922)

We got up early, drove to Eccles and caught the tram in to Manchester. We had a thoroughly enjoyable tour round all the Christmas markets on the different streets, had Bratwurst brunch, non-alcoholic festive punch, various cheese and liqueur tasters and finished later with crepes. A great time.

All was going well until we went to catch the tram back. We'd left plenty of time but discovered the signals were down and the trams delayed. After seeing four of them backed up before the next stop we decided we had to take a taxi back to the car despite our return ticket because we were on a mission ...

... to get to i-Fly at the Trafford Centre. We arrived an hour early for our check-in and enjoyed watching others, clearly more experienced, have a practice in the wind tunnel. Our turn came, we had our briefing, got the gear on and entered the waiting area. The thrill of the first flight was amazing. The force of 110mph wind really stretched the muscles. On the second of our flights we were offered the choice of an upgrade to the Hi-flyer, which we both did. So, half way in to the second flight the instructor took us on a spin high up in the tube, up and down twice. It was amazing, fabulous, wonderful etc etc etc. THANKYOU so much to Huddsbird and her mum and dad for this fabulous birthday present. The two instructors finished the session with a display of their flying skills.

After our flight we went to TGI Friday's in the Trafford Centre for a meal. It was then time to return to Huddsbird's over the Pennines, pick up my car and drive back over the Pennines home.

A BRILLIANT DAY ALL ROUND! :-)) Thankyou just isn't a big enough word this weekend.
