new school

Saturday and first on the agenda was a guided tour of the centre to see the progress.
A school is being built for able-bodied and disabled children and has been well thought out regarding accessibility. Today was a big day, the start of the roofing - any H&S people don't look at the first extra!
Then a trip round the farm (mainly oranges and bananas at present), the workshops, new admin block (still roofless), the water supply and the students' quarters, guided by Jennifer, 3rd extra.
Disabled people are not well treated in the country (as the director found out when he lost a hand) and so miss out on education etc and the centre helps with education, medical care and vocational training in a dressmaking, shoemaking and general life skills.
Later we walked through the town to the pastor's house where we have our meals - a hot walk through busy streets.
