Sunlight on Strathbungo

Worked from home today to facilitate the gas man coming to fix my boiler.

So frustrating when you see companies insisting on following stupid processes. Despite me telling them yesterday that all that was needed was for them to order and fit a new timer clock (boiler make and model to hand) they insisted on sending a man up, to look at said boiler, and tell me that he needed to order a new timer clock, and come back and fit it.

Ach well, he'll be back on Thursday.

Sun shone all day, I did emails all day. Then I took a wander out for a quick blip. I do love a good sign, and here's one from the nearby area of Strathbungo. I once heard a former colleague and great wordsmith inspire an audience talking about this wonderful area of Strathbungo. Which despite having no hall or church or park, had great community spirit. And where they had the genius idea of using the back lanes to hold community events. "Bungo in the back lanes."

She didn't mention that Strathbungo lies just across the road from the Queen's Park, one of the finest in Glasgow, which itself is ringed by about five churches and has a major community hall on its grounds, as well as tennis courts, five-a-side pitches, a glasshouse, allotments and a pitch and putt. And now a newly renovated outside arena area. Never spoil a good story eh? ;-)

Called in at a new local social enterprise cafe. Nice quality coffee, clearly it's got the good java juices judging from the verbose entry today, sorry folks!
