Ha Ha Tonka State Park Missouri

Last day of our mini road trip with the grandson. We hit the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, specifically Osage Beach. Near Osage beach is the Ha Ha Tonka State Park. Ha Ha Tonka is an Osage indian phrase meaning "Laughing Waters". The water moves in different ways in river tributaries and water falls. The distinctive feature of this park is a castle ruin which was a brain child of a very wealthy man named Snyder who wanted to build a fabulous house overlooking the lake in the early 1900's sadly, the castle burned down in 1941. Now it's a rocky feature like all of the indigenous forms in the area. Nature will always reclaim.
