Looking towards Mt Fortaleza

I was out this morning with a local walking group. It was a cool start and by the time we arrived in the woods below Mt Garajony mists were swirling around us. However as we set off the mists began to thin as the sun began to burn through.

We were climbing to the top of the highest mountain on the island but by taking a circular walk it was an easy ascent. We passed the burnt remains of Heather trees from an earlier fire, with new low level growth appearing. There were panoramic views of the surrounding hills but it was not clear enough to see some of the other islands.

We then descended by the same route and headed to a nearby bakers for lunch. A relax and swim in the pool completed a perfect day.
