Ham Stone House

Slight disappointment today travelled to Montacute with the intention of visiting  Montacute House - but unfortunately is was not open today - teach me to check the National Trust Handbook before travelling

The house is an Elizabethan Mansion - built by Sir Edward Phelips - prosecutor during the trials of the Gunpowder Plotters

The blip is a lovely Ham Stone house at the entrance to the house
