Modelling

This is a screenshot of a 3D model created from a video taken at one of the pile of stones we visited on Thursday. Without trying you can get a good "aerial" view which does help in interpreting the various piles. 
That said this is a complex one, not helped by the use and reuse of building stone that happens up here. I suspect its history goes back to some BC date but only excavation would show the truth of it. 
The remains that can b e seen are probably shielings from any date medieval onwards to the early 20th century. This one is probably towards the earlier end of those dates as it consists of multi chambered buildings rather than a rough single room.
