Warning: I Bite...!

You don't often think that British spiders can be poisonous, or can bite you for that matter. This is Araneus Diadematus, the Cross or Garden Spider. There have been reports that it bites. S/He has been hiding in a dark part of the fence for some time. I didn't want to annoy it, so just left it. Today I was rewarded as it came out to 'stretch' its legs.
I took 3 seperate images of it today, one in focus on the front legs, the main body (this image) and on to the rear legs. Tried to merge them in photoshop, so as to get a more complete in-focus shot... but failed!
I also think it looks a bit like Chewbacca.
