Reflections of a Greenkeeper

Went to lunch at the Wylde Green Pub today. A popular venue for my Dad in his heyday.. It was said he was quite a demon bowler. He'd be very pleased love and attention was still being bestowed on his beloved green. Much has changed since his time here. There were never lunch time meals at that time and all the rooms are now open plan to accommodate more visitors.

But, the season is truly over and the maintenance must take place before the weather truly turns for the worse. The ground staff have to spike the grass and this takes considerable time. Then the final feed before the grass lies dormant over the Winter period.
