Through the window to Charterhouse

In January this year, Charterhouse in London was opened to the public after more than 400 years of being a closed society. It is a beautiful old building, full of interest and a history of intrigue that was built on the edge of a plague burial site. Recently, when the crossrail tunnels were being planned the remains of bodies were found and when tested were confirmed to be carrying DNA from the black plague of London (if it were me l would be rushing off for the appropriate innoculations). Acold, rainy day in London, and getting colder as we made our way home.
