Toro!

Not been out today so here's a shot from the van on our way to Picos de Europa from Bilbao.

Having the reduced capacity water system up and running we have decided to seek a repair by Serendipity and not to stress ourselves in running around seeking it. So the trip to the motorhome dealer was cancelled. We set off for our destination, with the intention of calling at a supermarket on the way.

Mr L had located a Supermarket close to the motorway that looked easily accessible. I am sure that it was but we took a wrong turn initially and breathed a big sigh of relief when the low bridge was just high enough to accommodate us. When we finally arrived, we found that it had multistorey car parking, with a height bar too low for Vincent.

Spotting a Carrefour across the dual carriageway, we mounted a brave attempt to find it without SatNav assistance. When we arrived there we found a 2 m height limit...

I spotted that the Bricomart next door had plenty of space in the car park and no height bar and squeaked "In here!"

We took a look around Bricomart for the fix for the van. It was very like B&Q in there but far cheaper. We bought some bits but are unconvinced that this fix will work.

Carrefour was a huge hypermarket nightmare. I thought we would never get out. Spent 15 minutes looking for fresh milk alone. Disappointingly unlike the French stores and difficult to navigate. The place was heaving - something to do with the Public Holidays this week, I really.

Strong drink was purchased.

We were glad to get out of Dodge but the motorway drive thereafter wasn't that much of a relief. Stunning scenery. We only had one lorry driver honk at us (no idea why)

130 miles, a long day by our standards but our next journey may be even longer, possibly 280. It should be ok as long as we don't attempt a supermarket assault first.
