Capturing my Journey

By thedoglady

Back on the rock.

3am alarm a bit of a shocker this morning. A cup of tea each deflate our airbed walk dogs final pack and headed off for home. At least roads were quite. It was pretty windy and nasty squalls with a lot of tree branches on the road. We arrived at the corran ferry to find it suspended until daylight. We decided to wait rather than do the hour detour to avoid it. It finally sailed and we headed for the next ferry. It had had one previous sailing successfully in the daylight before we got there. We could tell by the locals we were meeting on the road. The ferry sailed at 10am on schedule, it was very bumpy and rolly with the waves crashing over the ramp especially just were it docks with the slip. The skilled skipper had to turn it into the wind as a huge blustery squall came and waited to dock until it had passed. Hugely relieved to be home. Unpacked animals checked and baths had and relax!!
