The Perfect Cuppa...

Did you know that apart from the clock striking thirteen in 1984, George Orwell also wrote a small check list on the making of 'A Nice Cup of Tea'. When ever I make tea, I keep to a few of the points he noted.

Over the past couple of weeks I've come up with make the perfect cup of tea for TFP check list.

O Cycle home 13 miles.
O Empty the kettle and boil with fresh water.
O Put tea bag in cup first then pour boiling water in cup as soon as boiled.
O Leave to infuse for about 3 minutes minimum, no stirring.
O Put a small drop of milk in. Enough to take the bite out of the tea, not enough to significantly lower the temperature of the tea or kill the flavour. I find a darkish brown around Pantone 730c just about right.
O Leave to cool for another couple of minutes.
O Enjoy.

ps. The 13 miles do really add to the experience.

Notes on the Picture...
There is a small electrical station just at the edge of Dalmeny before you hit the woods that take you to South Queensferry. On it there are 2 or 3 pairs of shoes. I can't even work out a viable story that would put them there outside of a drunken walk home gone wrong.
