Crocus pulchellus

Another autumn crocus that is easy to grow in UK gardens. Closely related to Crocus speciosus, shown here recently, the most obvious difference are the white anthers which bear white pollen. If you lok closely you can see there is already white pollen on the end of the orange style branches - should be seed for next year :)

Native in the mountains of Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria and Macedonia, so if you're off on holiday to Turkey this autumn, keep a look out for it!
