Sleep in the Park

Homelessness shames us all, but in Edinburgh we have an enlightened charity, Social Bite, which aims to end homelessness in the city through short, medium and long-term initiatives - from emergency funding of hostel beds to the creation of supported accommodation in Granton.

Tonight I an one of 9,000 people sleeping out in Princes Street Gardens: Social Bite's "Sleep in The Park".

The atmosphere is warming up as the temperature falls. Bob Geldof has spoken strongly and thoughtfully. Amy Macdonald is now signing off, to be followed by Deacon Blue and Liam Gallagher.

Liam's a twat, but a legend, and to hear him singing "Wonderwall' was a special moment.

If you want to acknowledge my effort and help support Social Bite, here's my donation page
