I guess there is never a good time for water to come through a bedroom ceiling but 2 weeks before Christmas in a Rectory is a particularly challenging time.

The water tank in the loft is leaking. Thankfully S discovered it on Saturday and only one bed was soaked through. We now have 3 buckets and 3 very wet patches on the ceiling like the one in the picture. The architect has been and said it has been leaking for a while. The ceiling will have to come down and some of the wooden beams or joists ( not sure) are so wet and mouldy the have rotted through so will need replacing. So now we are waiting on the plumber and insurance company.

Not sure where we are going to put all the furniture from that room....

It helps to have a sense of humour to be a vicar. All you can do is laugh.
