Stoked

I gave Clement his Stoke City t-shirt today and he was stoked. He had emailed me in the UK to ask for Stoke football strips for the whole family, but as authentic football shirts cost about 40 quid each and his extended family grows each time I blink while his brother Charles philanders around town, I didn't want to be bankrupted by servicing this request.

On the way back from Clement's we put our heads around an interesting looking gate, where the proprietor William invited us to hang at his 'crib' some time, and asked us about our crib. We pointed nonchalantly towards our crib, then went back to our crib to continue geekily through our to-do lists.

991 children were confirmed in Yambio today in a huge ceremony that attracted bishops from the dioceses of here, there and everywhere. It has been the talk of the town for days and driving over that way was utter pandemonium.

For those who weren't being confirmed or presiding over the ceremony, Sundays remain very much the party day of the week. Loud music booms out in the neighbourhood (possibly from William's crib), drunk people harass us when we stop to grab snacks, and there are always a multitude of sore heads on Monday mornings.
