Unhappy punkin

On the weekend I transplanted these two baby pumpkin plants, which had begun to grow unbidden out of compost, threatening the chillies and basil I had planted with said compost. I figured they had to go from where they were, but I'd try to salvage them if possible.

Not sure it's worked... Then, today being high in the thirties hasn't helped
