Hanging Thistle...

What a grey day after the lovely blue skies of this last week.

The daily walk passed the six-foot high thistles which were in their splendour earlier in the year - now destined to hang their heads in the defeat of autumn.

I thought this was still rather beautiful in its own way, though.
