Sweet Pain

A full on day. First stop doctors for Miss A's vaccinations - I didn't tell her that though. We were running late and I couldn't find the buggy board so I had to power-walk for 30 minutes with Miss A on my shoulders and was about ready to collapse by the time we arrived at the docs. When Miss A realised the appointment was for her to get her injections she was a bit upset but was all smiles and very grown up about getting the 'medicine put in her arms' when the time came. She didn't even flinch at the first injection but sobbed very gently at the second one which was very stingy, apparently. She perked up again when I told her I had a special sweet treat for her and all was good with the world again.

We headed for lunch at a local cafe (with rice crispie cake) then hopped on the bus and on to the Museum to let Little D see the dinosaurs. He has been to the museum before but was too young to really appreciate anything. This time was different and he ran from one thing to the next with such delight and enthusiasm. When he got to the wildlife area he just didn't know where to go first - his eyes were as big as saucers as he took in the array of animals and ran around pointing and shouting at everything, paying extra special attention to the shark and dinosaur. It must be truly amazing to see life through the eyes of a child.

Miss A was complaining about her arms being stingy but after another stop at another cafe, the tunnocks tea cake seemed to sort that right out! After the museum there was a quick stop off at John Lewis to see grandad, before making our way home - via a sweet shop to get a lolly as Miss A's arms seemed to be sore again!

Miss A had daddy's undivided attention as she told him all about her bravery but that she had sore arms. Kisses and cuddles seemed to help this time (only after being was told there were no more treats), as did a dose of Calpol before bed.

Now if every pain I had could be cured with chocolate I'd be a happy girl...
