Walled Garden

The weather forecasters have done an excellent job for us this week. Right from the beginning of the week they said it would be lovely and sunny until Wednesday and then break on Thursday, and that is exactly what has happened.

This enabled us to plan the week perfectly, enjoying excellent walks in the first half of the week and saving the bad weather options for later.

Even today we have been lucky though. The sunshine and warmth had given way to cloud and a chilly wind, but it remained dry until we arrived back at our cottage at 4:30 pm. It is now raining heavily.

One of the best places to be outdoors on a cold windy day is in a walled garden, and fortunately there are two excellent ones nearby. This morning we went to Cambo House which claims to have the largest walled garden in Scotland, and I can well believe it - it is enormous. After some lunch in Crail we went to the National Trust for Scotland property at Kellie Castle where there is another walled garden.

Both gardens were lovely and surprisingly colourful given that we are now well into autumn. For my blip I have chosen this shot taken in the Cambo garden.
