The Edge of the Wold

Redshanks

The view into Morecambe Bay from Far Arnside. I had to go slightly off-piste for this angle looking up the drainage creek with the feeding redshanks.

It is exactly five years since I first met Gus when he was brought round to assess whether we could provide him with a suitable home, and for us in turn to be sure that he would get on with our cat Bob. All boxes were suitably ticked. After that we went for a walk with him over Arnside Knott, and photographed visitors from Scandinavia.

So, to mark the passage of those happy five years, Gus and I did the circuit from home, over the Knott and round the headland in Morecambe Bay, the first time we have walked the full distance since sometime before the leukaemia diagnosis over a year ago.  On the way home it became apparent that I had both sets of keys to the house (the third set having disappeared off to South Wales with Dr T last week), which left C unable to lock up and rather late for her appointment in Ulverston. Oh dear.
