Snowball Lights

Having guests round for the evening is a good excuse for lighting the outdoor candles. And today we don't have  the cold, dry snow flakes we usually get. Instead, today's snow is damp, "snowball snow"! So I build snowball lanterns. These are walls of snowballs, built so there are plenty of spaces between the snowballs.  See the extra for the inside view of a snowball lantern.
Our visitors from town are suitably impressed because town is slightly lower and nearer the sea, and it is raining there.
Once the guest were here we had a lovely evening (extra 2). Here are the ingredients of a good evening...
Good friends (in this case old friends who have worked and played together)
Prosecco
Mince pies (home-baked )
Scones (actually everything is home-baked)
biscuits
saffron buns
mulled wine
sultanas and almonds
wine
fruit
foam Santas
chocolates
coffee
candles
learning to make origami stars (alternatively teaching how to....)
creativity (we ALL have it)
a sense of fun
