Aberlady Bay

After collecting the next two years' tide tables from the BTO, and admiring the Darren Woodhead exhibition (oh! to have a spare £5,000) then lunch at the cheerfully-friendly Sew In Stitches tearoom, we crossed the wooden footbridge for a walk towards the bay.
To our left flocks of birds were assembling in distant Hawthorn trees, to our right among the Buckthorn more were chattering to each other, but no clear sighting identified them except one Fieldfare, but probably Redwing also as they often form mixed flocks.. And a male bullfinch, who was equally shy of the camera.

On our return we spotted a Roe deer grazing to the East of the bridge, appreciating the effective camouflage, see the extra photo.

But we enjoyed the outing under a blue sky despite the keen wind and returned home refreshed to continue Christmas preparations.
