A celebration

This week was new nephew Andrew's birthday, so we combined a dinner celebration for him with a little Hanukkah party.  The dinner was wonderful, including lemon meringue pie (his favorite) for desert.  Then the girls lit the candles, as you see here; the paintings on the wall behind are all done by Endless Weekend.

Later we played dreidel.  While many folks use pennies or gold chocolate coins to bet with, we have always used these small ceramic animals.  They came from boxes of Red Rose tea, which used to include one in each box.  We saved them up over the years and bring them out each Hanukkah.  The extra shows my pieces waiting to be played.
