before opening time

We were in Leicester this morning before the car parks and shops opened at 10. This is the view down Gallowtree Gate looking towards the Clock Tower. It was a bit of a dull image so I used an app to give it a watercolour effect and I like it much better now.

I was hoping to wrap up presents today but after getting everything out and ready I discovered I didn't have any paper. I thought I'd get it from the Christmas Shop (a pop-up that's only there in December) but it was closed so I went to The Works instead.

I made the Christmas cake this afternoon. It's still cooking and smells lovely.
