Non stop heavy drizzle all morning, so we headed to the woods near Crummock Water to get some shelter...

Yesterday's coloured sheep:- There is a ram ( tup ) in the field with the sheep. He wears a coloured dye device ( raddle ) so that the shepherd can see which sheep have been served...Each week the tup wears a different colour. This is really useful at lambing time...The green sheep (say ) will lamb the first week, then the red ( say ) the next week, etc etc.
Clever stuff! So they weren't just coloured for Christmas...
