Wet Waddesdon

Another day fully occupied.
First thing was an hour's tuition with a boy working towards a high level in his Common Entrance exams.  He is only 12 years old so it's hard for him to find the motivation needed to get to the level required.  Then it was over to Waddesdon where I had volunteered to help out at at the meet and greet by north fountain - where visitors get off the bus that has brought them up from the car park. It was really busy.

Despite the awful weather, visitors were coming up in busloads and others returning - so controlling the queues so everyone could get on or off the buses without waiting too long was quite a challenge.  I was a volunteer with another who was full time - it was great team work and I was well directed to the right points and able to pick that up quickly for the next busload.  It was fun.

There were some great photo opportunities - low mist round the Manor House, umbrellas in the walk up the drive, lights on the House - but I was unable to take advantage of these being there to do a job and couldn't desert my post.
