Frosty Rooster + Red-tailed Dive

Our annual Christmas bird count was today--bitterly cold (ca 15 F/-10 C) but fortunately calm and sunny (at least till afternoon). Many wonderful shots, and a dilemma as to which of the two finalists should be the main blip. Frost was everywhere, even bordering this weathervane (at least it's a bird :)  And the red-tailed hawk in the extra was one of two circling overhead at midday. Our club's count (Hampshire Bird Club) tallied 79 species, more or less as expected, and our small group saw thirty in our assigned area.
