Winter Surprise

Again.

It snowed overnight and it was still snowing when I left for work.  It was great being the first person out in it.  The snow was deep and fluffy and it "knirscht" underfoot.

"Knirschen" is the German verb for the sound that snow makes when you walk on it.  Don't forget to pronounce the "k" and then the "nirscht".

So I k-nirscht my way down to the bus stop, throughly enjoying the soft white flakes and how pretty everything was.  Oh and the konstant k-nirsch-k-nirsch-k-nirsch.

I am a simple minded soul.

And then I got to the bus stop.

And I waited.

The 6:30 bus didn't turn up.  "It'll be late because of the snow" thought a simpleton.

I checked the App.  There's a bus coming in 10 minutes, said the App from the ever reliable Bus Company.

In ten minutes I checked the App again.  It showed "your bus is there".  And then that message vanished.  And it said "There's a bus in 10 minutes and also in 13 minutes".

So I waited.

The app lied.  Neither bus appeared, although the App insisted they came and went.

It then said there would be a bus in 20 minutes.

I chose not to believe it and went home.  Took a flex day (thank you boss) and cleared the path of snow.

That last bit was probably a bad idea.  I turned in a strange way and set that intermittent back pain off.  So instead of a relaxing flex day, it was an uncomfortable one.
