The Season

I spent most of the day in a team of 3 delivering Christmas cards to pensioners.

I wasn't expecting this, but someone phoned in sick, and the Big Day is only a week away, so I had to go home, get changed and then get stuck in.

These flats (Blipped) were our first target. 14 floors. 6 flats on each floor. A block each. Fortunately the lifts were working, so we could start at the top and walk down.

Each year the Boss holds a competition for the design of his official card, and the local primary schools submit the one they've chosen from their pupils' artwork. The overall winner is then selected and about 3,000 printed for distribution locally. The local branch of one of the supermarket chains sponsors it all.

The winner (plus parents) also gets an all expense paid trip to Edinburgh for lunch at/tour of Parliament.

Well, season of goodwill.
