Indri

Madagascar Day 12

Our last day! We left the hotel at 6:30 and went to the local reserve in search of the Indri's. We found the 2nd group. The local guides know where each group is likely to be. The indri's have a howling communication call which they only do about 4 times a day and usually only in the morning. We had been with the small family group about 5 minutes when they started their call right above us. I used my camera to record it, so amazing, I had tears of happiness hearing that sound.

We left the park about 9:30 and started the 4.5 hour trip back to Tana for our first chance of shopping, a freshen up in the hotel and dinner (the best one of the whole trip) before catching our over night plane at 01:10 am.
