The imprint...

Today is my late Mum’s birthday. I’ve kind of lost count, but she would have been in her mid-80s maybe. Alas it wasn’t to be and she died very suddenly in her early 60s, over 20 years ago.

Some years the day passes - always marked - but quietly. Others years it pierces and stings. This year it felt heavy and sad.

She was so glamorous - think Elizabeth Taylor but on a more modest budget and you’re there. Here we are one Christmas when I was just a toddler, with me being introduced to the wonderful delights of her perfume.

It explains a lot...the dye was cast early..and I still close my eyes when I spray...
