move over train spotting...

...it's name dropping as Qantas' 'Sunshine Coast' lands at Perth carrying a precious cargo of the Brisbane family for the holidays.

Qantas planes have been variously named over the decades for symbolic and sentimental reasons.
The 1920s planes were named for characters from Greek mythology (of the flying variety),  then flying boats for coastal towns and onwards through Aviation personalities, Trader, Pacific and Southern themes.
And so it has continued with the gorgeous livery of 1993 in observance of the International Year of Indigenous People and then Aviation Pioneers and  Australiana.

Now there is the naming of the 'Dreamliner' that will fly direct from Perth to London...14000 kms in 17 hours!!!

Plane spotter?
Oooo yes with junior flying back and forth for the next few years I may well become one :)
