Guiders

Backblip

Every end of term I threaten to treat my fellow guiders and every term something gets in the way. Except this term I succeeded and after going running at the gym for the first time, I cooked us all tea and a lovely evening was had.

The students in Falmouth get a bad press, probably deservedly for a small minority, from many. But my experience with ‘the students’ has been through Guiding and Scouting. These youngsters give up their time week after week, many for the 3-4 years they study down here. The handful I meet ‘give back’ far more to the local community than many of the vociferous grumblers who see ‘the students’ as only a bad thing.
