War Weekend I

Pickering's War Weekend starts today.

For me the Friday of War Weekend, is always like an episode from Doctor Who.

Its like a Doctor Who episode because those people, like this lady, who dress up are outnumbered by us normal folk who aren't. So, it's a little like Pickering has been invaded by aliens from the 1940s who are trying hard to blend in with us locals, but not succeeding. A blue police box is the only thing missing.

Tomorrow will be a different story when Pickering is invaded by tens of thousands of people the majority of which will be reliving the 1940's and the Second World War.
