Regent Street lights

Tonight we went for a drive into town to look at the Christmas lights. We used to do this when I was a kid and I loved it. It was always magical and I loved a car ride.

30 years later and it's me doing the driving taking mum and dad up into town to see the lights.

We went up Regent Street, loved Hamleys window and then couldn't ever remember seeing Piccadilly Circus screens so bright as they were now. Over to Trafalgar Square, the tree there was a little disappointing with lights strung over it in a uniform unexciting way. Past Leicester Square with memories of the Hippodrome and the Empire dance hall and then up to Tottenham Court Rd.

Dad hadn't seen the new junction layout and the impressive new station. Funny how things change...

Up through Camden to pretty Hampstead and then home.

A lovely couple of hours listening to Christmas songs and reminiscing. It's what Christmas is really all about I guess.
